Biography

Dr. Gopakumar R, MBBS, MD Anesthesiology, is an experienced anesthesiologist and critical care specialist with over two decades in the medical field. He has earned his MBBS from Government Medical College, Calicut and his MD in Anesthesiology from Regional Cancer Centre, Thiruvananthapuram with comprehensive training including postings in surgical superspecialties, trauma, emergency, obstetrics, pediatrics, cardiac anesthesia, and neuroanesthesia at various esteemed institutions, has furthered his qualifications with Advanced Cardiac Life Support training from Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences and Pain and Palliative Care training at Regional Cancer Centre, and has contributed extensively to medical education as a teacher and thesis co-guide for postgraduate students, and as a teacher for house surgeons and MBBS students.

Dr. Gopakumar R has a good clinical background in anesthesiology and critical care, having served as a Specialist in Pain and Palliative Medicine at Pallium India Trust, Thiruvananthapuram, and held roles as Registrar and Senior Resident in Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Sri Uthradom Tirunal (SUT) Hospital and SUT Academy of Medical Sciences, respectively; he further contributed as Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor in Anesthesiology and Critical Care at Azeezia Medical College, Kollam, before working as a Consultant at Avitis Institute of Medical Sciences, Palakkad, and Meditrina Hospital, Kollam.
