Biography

Dr Padmakumar is an Othopaedic Surgeon with more than 30 years of experience in the field of Orhopaedics and Trauma. He completed MBBS from the Govt Medical College, Kottayam in the year 1990. Later he did postgraduation in Orthopaedics from the same medical college and got the MS Othopaedics degree in the year 1993. While working as an Orthopaedic Consultant he passed the DNB (Otho) in the year 1994. He joined Govt Medical College, Trissur as Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedics in the year 1997. After taking a leave for 5 years from the Department of Medical Education, Kerala he went to the United Kingdom and worked in different hospitals in the UK as Orthopaedic Surgeon and got advanced training in Joint replacement surgery and Arthroscopy. After coming back to India in the year 2001, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Govt Medical College Kottayam for 5 years. He then worked in various Hospitals in Kerala before joining Smita hospital. His areas of interest include Joint replacement both primary and revision, Arthroscopy, Trauma and Spine surgery including Endospine procedures. He has authored many articles that are published in reputed peer-reviewed journals.
